Having worked for over 30 years as a clinical counselor and transformational coach, I believe we are constantly being formed by the currents of life around us—just like rocks yield to the flow of water. Sometimes, these forces carve things away over time. Sometimes, they build things up, layer by layer. And sometimes, when we’re lucky, they fill in the empty spaces and leave treasure for us to find, if we just know where to look. Both is session and at my bench my goal is to find and showcase this treasure.
Combining this love of “emotional geology” with the process of silversmithing, I work to create pieces that bring out the natural beauty of the stone and its journey through unique, complimentary settings rich with dynamic color and pattern. Each one-of-a-kind batch tells a story common to our human experience—feeling the cold darkness of the winter solstice, being in the middle of a midwestern winter and longing for the beach, laying on one’s back reading the clouds on a summer’s day—creating connection around the everyday beauties and struggles of life.
